BPWS SWIM ASSESSMENT: Which swim class should I sign up for?

This class is for swimmers between the ages of 10 and 12-year-olds who are beginners or have little to no swimming experience. With BPWS, they will learn the following:

Blow bubbles and practice breathing techniques

How to float on their backs and stomachs without assistance

Learn the doggy paddle, Freestyle, and Backstroke
All swimmers will be assessed to determine whether this class suits them. The class ratio for this session is one instructor to 5 students.
Sign up for our Adult Beginner class. With a ratio of 6 students to 1 instructor, this class is for first-time swimmers, who are looking to dip their toe in the water. In this class, you’ll learn:

How to breathe

How to float and swim on your back
-
How to freestyle and backstroke
-
How to touch the bottom of the pool
And more!
Sign up for our Nemo class. With a ratio of 5 students to 1 instructor, this class is created for first-time swimmers between the ages of 7-9 years old who are looking to get more comfortable in the water. In this class, they’ll learn:

How to enter and exit the pool
-
How to breathe and blow bubbles
-
How to float on their backs
-
Learn swim skills
Sign up for our Seahorse class. With a ratio of 4 students to 1 instructor, this class is created for first-time swimmers between the ages of 3 to 6 years old. In this class, they will learn the following:

The importance of pool safety

Identifying lifeguards and swim instructors
-
Face submersion and how to breathe
-
Floating on their backs
Sign up for our Stingray class. With a ratio of 4 students to 1, this class is for swimmers between the ages of 10 to 12, who have taken swim lessons and know how to do the following:

Doggy paddle

Float on their stomach and back

Face submersion
-
Freestyle
-
Backstroke
In this class, you’ll learn:

Review alternative breathing in the freestyle

How to perform flip turns
-
How to perform the breaststroke

Treading water
With a class ratio of 6 students to one instructor, in this Teen Beginner class, teens will learn the fundamentals of all things swimming, such as:

How to doggy paddle and elementary backstroke
-
How to breathe
-
How to float on their backs with no assistance
-
Along with a few lifeguard-saving drills to prevent drownings
Class: Adult Advanced Beginner
Ratio: 6 to 1
Do you know how to swim and want to take your technique to the next level? Adult Advanced Beginner may be the class for you.
To take this class, you should possess the following skills:

Freestyle

- Tread water
In this class, you will learn how to:

Tread water for 1 min

Submerge underwater and pick up an object

Alternative breathing in the freestyle

Breaststroke
This is an Advanced Beginner Class for teens who have taken our Teen Beginner. If you have not, please do not register. All swimmers must know how to do the following:

Backstroke and Freestyle

Ability to tread water
In this Teen Advanced Beginner class, students will be getting ready for competitive swimming:

Breaststroke
- Butterfly
-
Flip turns
-
Swim any combination of strokes
The class ratio for this session is 1 instructor to 6 students.
