Find your balance by discovering your dosha and what is good for you.
Curious about your Ayurvedic body type? This quiz will help you discover your dosha and provide tips to enhance your well-being.
Ayurveda originated 5000 years ago in India; it is the oldest medical system in the world, which inspired Chinese medicine, herbalism, and Western medicine. It studies the complex relationships between body and mind to find balance similar to the bliss experienced at the end of a yoga class in the corpse pose, shavasana. It is based on the system of the 3 doshas: Vata, Pitta, Kapha.
Knowing your dosha, your personal composition based on the elements water, earth, air, fire, and space, is useful for adopting a lifestyle in harmony and restoring your balance.
Take the test to find out your dosha and what is good for you to be healthy and aligned with your nature. The result: a restored balance.
Your elements are air and ether.
Your mind is creative.
Your body is slim.
Your difficulty is staying put.
Your imbalances are anxiety and digestive disorders.
Your elements: Air + Ether
Mentally, Vatas are creative and sharp. Your mind is always active. You get bored quickly when you stay in one place too long. You can't stay still and are always looking for challenges like Steve Jobs or Picasso. All artists, writers, philosophers, or visionaries are examples of Vatas.
You are always on the move, you love to travel. You need to walk to think, and you feel cramped in an office. Change stimulates you. You have trouble resting. Your thoughts are focused on the future; you can't stabilize and be present because you do multiple things at once.
Physically, your hair, skin, nails, tongue, and colon are dry. You tend to be constipated. Your bones and muscles are thin. Your sleep is restless. Your menstruation is irregular. Your blood circulation is poor, and you often feel cold, especially in your feet and hands. You have frequent belching and hiccups. You like soft and moist foods and often crave sweet, sour, or salty foods.
If you recognize yourself in this description, you are Vata.
Note: we all have the 3 doshas in us. They must be prioritized (primary, secondary, and tertiary dosha). Your mind may be different from your body. For example, you may have a Pitta mind and a Vata body composition.
