Which volunteer role is right for you?
Whether you're leading unit meetings for Rainbows or sorting out a Ranger unit's finances, there are all sorts of wonderful ways to help deliver guiding. Take our quick quiz to find out what kind of volunteer opportunity is right for you!
You'd make a fantastic unit leader - an all-rounder who's great at taking charge, planning exciting activities, and an exceptional role model for others. You're reliable, organised, and a bit of a juggler who's always on the go. Once you commit to something, you're sure to see it through. And your natural ability to make everyone you meet feel special is what will make you such a great unit leader - someone who girls will remember in years to come!
Even though you may not be able to commit to regular weekly meetings right now, you'll always give what you can to help others. You're a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up, get-stuck-in kind of person who's great with young people and works well in a team. You get excited about meeting other people and doing your bit for your community. And you're committed to helping all girls know they can do anything - whether that's becoming a rocket scientist, or building a bridge out of paper cups!
Working directly with girls and going along to regular meetings isn't quite for you - you prefer to help things tick along by lending your skills to support behind the scenes. You might be a maths whizz, or an expert at running social media accounts. And you could get stuck in to anything from helping units attract new members or recording girls' progress towards badges. You've got a great eye for detail, and you're committed to helping all girls know they can do anything by giving the time and skills you can.
You're organised, enthusiastic, and a great team player. You're keen to work with other volunteers in your area, meeting new people and developing your skills in ways you'd never imagined! And you're best suited to a role that's flexible in terms of time commitment and location.
