SEM is the the art of using a platform (ie: Google) for PPC and marketing purposes such as advertising, sponsored and promoted ads. Users pay to present their ads to potential prospects.
Google dominates PPC with approximately 85% - 90% share. Bing is 2nd with approximately 7% - 9% share. Yahoo possesses approximately 2% - 3% of PPC market share.
Somewhat controversial and driven by opinion, however, usually a click-through rate of 2.0% is seen as an average/successful performance rate.
In the past, Insurance has typically been the most expensive keyword. However, as of May 15, 2023, the most expensive keywords on Google are:
- Business Services - $58.64
- Bail Bonds - $58.48
- Casino - $55.48
- Lawyer - $54.86
- Asset Management - $49.41
Usually we'd say 3 - 5 times per day. The top answer we found on Google was 500 - 600 times per year. The truth is, there is no factual data posted on this that solidifies EXACTLY how often the algorithm is updated.
Google's key goal is to serve its users the highest quality and most relevant content to answer their question. That said, it's not all about the money.
Factors that play a large part in where your ad ranks are your landing page load speed, quality of content, coding, site security, search-to-content relations and so much more!
Google can definitely track phone calls, phone call conversions, and even has the capability to record click-to-call conversion phone calls and integrate with CRM webhooks.
