Even though The ComPost Magazine is pretty cool, we were talking about the real composts that you can own at home where you throw away your organic matter and can be used later as fertiliser.

A cool magazine, of course!

What is an advantage of composting?
Reduces landfill waste
Eco-friendly alternative to artificial fertilisers

All of the above
Can you only own a compost if you have a garden?
Yes, you need to have it in the garden
No, you can have one at home
You actually need to have a specific type of garden
You don't need a garden but it should be outdoors (like on a balcony for example)
Do all composts need to include worms?
Good news for those of you who do not like worms, there are other ways to have a compost at home :)
Yes, that is the only way to make the end result fertile for plants
Yes but not all species of worms work to have a good compost
No, but then you need other types of bugs
No, there are different types of composts
Now, what SHOULD NOT be placed in a compost?
Having dairy in your compost could lead to bad smells (cheese, duh!) but could also attract rodents and flies...
Dairy products (cheese, milk, etc)
Paper
Hair and Fur
Leaves
Again, what SHOULD NOT be placed in a compost?
Just like for the dairy, this would attract pests and smell terrible... you really don't want something that smells like rotten egg anywhere near your house!
Tea bags
Cardboard
Eggs (as in the white and the yolk)
Wood chips
One last time, what SHOULD NOT be placed in a compost?
Once again, smells... pests... let's avoid all that shall we?
