Chronic Illness Representation in Art and Media
Thank you for taking part in this survey. My name is Ruby, and I'm an undergraduate student studying Visual Art with an emphasis in comic arts. This survey is part of my capstone project, where I am exploring the intersection of chronic illness, its portrayal in the media, and how art—specifically comics—can serve as an educational tool that spreads awareness and understanding about chronic illness. Your responses will provide valuable insights into these important topics.
This survey has 20 questions and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time without any consequences.
All responses will remain anonymous, and your privacy will be protected. The data collected will only be used for academic purposes related to this project.

Chronic illness refers to a long-lasting condition that can persist for a year or more and requires ongoing medical attention or limits activities of daily living. These illnesses typically do not have a cure and can be managed but not entirely eradicated. Examples include diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, chronic respiratory conditions, and autoimmune diseases. Chronic illnesses can fluctuate in severity and may have a significant impact on a person's quality of life.
