Are you an optimist or a pessimist
What we think inside our heads is what shows on the outside and that’s what determines how people treat us. This is the strength of the power of thought.
- Orly Katz
You have come to an audition for a TV talent show that you have been preparing for all summer long. How do you feel and what thoughts are going through your head one minute before the audition starts?
You and a few other friends made a noise and disrupted a lesson, but you were the only one to get in trouble. What do you think about that?
You left a few messages for your best friend, and they haven’t got back to you. What do you think?
You failed a very important test. What do you tell yourself?
You’ve been elected to a role that you really wanted. What do you think to yourself?
You asked your crush to go to a movie with you and s/he said “no”. How would you react?
You were the heart and soul of the party last night. In the morning you thought:
A friend loses his temper and insults you. How would you react?
You put on weight over the summer vacation. How do you react?
You had an argument with your brother and your mother took his side. What do you feel?
You are a pessimist:
You are very pessimistic and live under a black cloud. You feel sorry for yourself and feel that everything is messed up. But don’t worry, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel! Go straight on to the exercise at the end of the analysis and see how you can turn your life around.
You are balanced:
You are fairly balanced, seeing things differently at different times depending on your mood. You sometimes have an optimistic attitude and it’s worthwhile working on that. Go straight on to the exercise at the end of the analysis to see how you can make positive thinking part of your life all of the time.
You're an optimist
You are a true optimist. You believe in yourself, think positive thoughts, and are happy with your life. Your optimism is infectious. The only thing to check is that you are not a little naïve (but that’s the topic of a different discussion).
