Given to show just how widespread the pantheon is, we could probably list the pantheon equivalents in just about every region of the world including the Native Americans, the Middle East and even the most far-flung islanders. But you probably get the picture by now and we will start getting more into how they can be accessed and how they relate to the Arcane. Ashe were not a people as described in the Southern Branch, but is the word for spirit to the Yoruba.
While there are a lot of tangents with little to no meaning you could make out of this, the main point is still pretty impactful. Even the Jews recognized their version of Saturn as the chief God at one time. This was before the Mosaic period when Moses declared that Yahweh was now their God. This overthrow of power was recognized by virtually all cultures of the earth evidently as they seem to all have around the same time transitioned an Old father God to a new Thunder God. This coincides with the similarly universal story of overthrowing the giants. Get into the Yellow Focus to pursue this thread.
White, Black and Grey magick are all descriptors for types of spiritual practices based on their intent, but spirit itself is neutral and the force can be used for both creative and destructive purposes. Every spirituality has Dark Arts, Light Arts (like healing) and practices that straddle somewhere in the middle. You will be happy to know there actually is a Chicken of Creation however.
The true story of the Zombi is infinitely more harrowing than the modern day rendition of what a zombie is. Especially because this really has happened and it is hard to say that it's not still happening now. Necromancy is a Dark Art and one of the practices forbidden in the Bible. The Dark Arts mentioned in the Bible were misconstrued and translated in the King James Bible as all 'magic' being forbidden. But by then the very term 'magic' had lost all meaning and was used to hereticize the universally practiced spirituality of ancient times.
The most peculiar part of it all arguably is where they say they attained this information. They claim that the knowledge was passed down to them by beings that came from the distant star system Sirius and gave details about it that were later verified yet invisible without a powerful telescope. In fact, some of the details were only confirmed much later in the 90s.
The Egyptian Book of the Dead is very similar in nature to the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
The nuances of metaphor and parable aren't hard to understand. Depicting Sobek with a crocodile head immediately denotes to the viewer the kind of personality Sobek has. At a glance, you instantly can ascertain what kind of qualities must be inherent with the God or Goddess by knowing even the basics of what the animal is like. Seeing the animal associated with them could be a sign as well, but not necessarily.
It all starts with you. The Entities are not going to appear to you all of a sudden just based on a whim or because of your sudden interest in them. You must start from within, cultivating your personality to synchronize with the qualities of the deity/deities you associate most with. You should begin with one chosen deity from any of the cultures. You have to start within building the relationship for the relationship to start manifesting without.
Study the lore, pray/meditate internally, let your actions coincide with that aspect, and you could even make small sacrifices to show your seriousness in engaging with them.
The cognitive tradeoff hypothesis is most observable in the difference between humans and other apes. We have lost certain abilities that are tied to survival in order to commit more brain power on introspection and logical reasoning. We have committed more and more to the frontal lobe, allowing for complex language and deeper cognition.
But what if we have lost something more than just the primal capacities? Maybe we have lost the mind's access to what the ancients had- a connection with spirit.
Interdiscipline is about studying the history of spirituality and the Arcane through the lens of powerful cultures and their unique approaches to it. As soon as we are through the Sword of the Spirit Course, you will get more hands on, promise. The Arcane does require a working knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes however and we are trying to make these basic courses in such a way that it guides even a total beginner to this subject through a process that both educates and hopefully excites them. We try to teach in a safe manner how to approach a point that they are able to perform powerful spiritual abilities while reducing as much as possible any dangers or blowback that can happen when practitioning.
