You want peace. You want quiet. And you certainly don't want to hear your neighbor snacking on chips. The third floor reading room in the Main library is the perfect serene space for some hardcore studying. It may be called the Graduate Reading Room, but it's open to everyone!

...it's giving scholar. If you want to feel like you are on the brink of writing the next great American novel, the Carnegie LIbrary is for you! It's a little off the beaten path but this spot has great sunlight and has amazing access to local coffee shops and lunch spots.
Carnegie Library is located on the Health Sciences campus. To reach the library by bus, take the Health Sciences bus route, which makes stops at Snelling Dining Commons, Memorial Hall, and Gilbert Hall (among others). Visitor parking is also available on the Health Sciences campus.

Whether you've just introduced yourselves to your group members or you need to talk strategy for a class debate, these study rooms are the perfect place to hunker down with your peers and get work done.With Tate next door, Jittery Joes on the 2nd floor, and vending machines on every floor, you'll never be without sustenance. The best part? There are digital signs at almost every entrance of the building that show you the study rooms that are occupied and the study rooms that are available.

You're not picky, you just need a seat and a nearby outlet. Between the Main Library, Miller Learning Center, and the McBay Science Library there are hundreds of individual study spaces. You could even find a spot at the Art Library or Curriculum Materials Library (can you believe more people don't know about them?).
Some notable spots include window nooks on floors 2-7 of the Main Library, soft seating throughout the MLC, and study carrels on the 3rd and 4th floor of the McBay Science Library. Our best advice? Pick a library and go to every floor to find those perfect tucked away spots.

Located in Room 350 on the 3rd floor of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, the Music Library is quiet, cozy, and offers computer workstations for some solid study sessions. Access music audio and video recordings, scores, and music course reserves. Just a heads up, the Music Library is closed on Saturdays!

The Art Library is located in room N201 at the Lamar Dodd School of Art and includes a Zine library, reading recommendations from visiting artists, and two group study rooms. There's lots to peruse but, when you're ready, you can claim some soft seating or find a spot at a computer station.

Tucked in the corner of Aderhold Hall is the CML, or the Curriculum Materials Library. While Mary Frances Early College of Education Students might feel the most at home in this space, every student should check out the CML. It's overflowing with gorgeously illustrated children's books and you can even check out board games! Is there any better way to take a study break?
