Is the product column stream exiting the hopper?
Is the Hopper overflowing?
Is the Hopper backfilling to at least 70%?
Are the Springs extending?
Is the Hopper free of any blockages or build up?
Is the overflow occurring on one side of the hopper, or flowing evenly over the edge?
Adjust the plug gap to make it wider
Move all of the the Eyebolts down by loosening the nuts and lowering the eyebolt down.
Do this is in small increments, making sure to raise all the Eyebolts by the same distance.
This will increase the gap between the Plug and the Hopper, and allow the hopper to reach maximum flowrate without overflowing.
The Hopper needs to be run at 70% to 90% full.
Adjust the plug gap to make it smaller
Move all of the the Eyebolts up by loosening the nuts and pushing the eyebolt up.
Do this is in small increments, making sure to raise all the Eyebolts by the same distance.
This will reduce the gap between the Plug and the Hopper, and allow the product to backfill the Hopper.
The Hopper needs to be run at 70% to 90% full, without overflowing.
Check the product stream entering the Hopper
Check that the flow of product into the hopper is evenly distributed and landing on centre.
Also, make sure that your hopper has been installed in a level position, and that there is no build up or blockages inside.
Check for blockages
There may be a total or partial blockage preventing the flow of material. Empty the hopper and check inside to ensure it is clean and there is no build up inside or on the bottom of the plug.
If the hopper is blocked by build up or lumps of material, a slap with the hands is usually sufficient to clear, never hit the hopper with hard or sharp objects.
